I studied biology and started to work for the European Commission in the area of research and sciences after aquiring some useful experiences in other occupations. Being German by origin, I am a dedicated European,  living and working in Brussels, which became the home for my family and me. 

Fine arts remain my passion - and I spent as much time on them as my job and my two children allow. In my free time I also like to study art history. In my work I am very much influenced by my love for nature, in particular birds and plants, as well as by Japanese culture.
